Global Wind Capacity Hit 433 GW in 2015

REN21’s latest Renewables Global Status Report is a sprawling overview of renewable energy market, industry, investment, and policy development worldwide, with data collected from a network of more than 500 contributors and researchers.
The policy network found that wind power was the leading source of new power generating capacity in Europe and the United States in 2015, and the second largest in China. Globally, a record 63 GW was added for a total of about 433 GW.
REN21 said the 63 GW of global wind power capacity was part of 147 GW from renewable sources added worldwide–a new record.
